Participants will explore factors that impact student engagement, as discussed in Eric Jensen's book Engaging Students with Poverty in Mind. Connections between economic status and student engagement will be examined. The seminar covers the rules and functions of engagement and presents strategies using a format that models these concepts throughout the session. Participants will conclude by considering ways to implement these ideas in their daily practice.
